Lovejoys Senior / Light - Dry Dog Food

Product Description

Suitable for older dogs or those with a weight problem, our senior/light Lamb & Rice is a popular favourite. With a lower protein and fat content, it is ideal for those senior dogs who perhaps don’t run around quite as much as they used to, helping them to maintain a healthy weight, which means less stress on their joints.

Our Lamb & Rice senior/light diet is hypoallergenic and made from a single source of protein. It is formulated to exclude many known allergens, such as wheat, wheat gluten, dairy, pork, beef and soya.

We include Glucosamine and Chondroitin to promote joint repair and mobility and Seaweed Oil because it contains DHA (Docosahexenoic Acid) which supports a healthy brain, vision and nervous system.

Lovejoys® crunchy kibble can help remove plaque and tartar from your dog’s teeth and reduces unpleasant breath in the process.

Rest assured, there are no added artificial colours, flavours or preservatives in any of our foods. Naturally good is the way we make them and promise that we always will.

Feeding Guidlines

Lovejoys® is normally fed dry, but do make sure there is always a separate bowl of water available. Alternatively it can be moistened with warm water which will bring out the flavour. You can feed in one meal a day or two. If your dog prefers two feeds a day, we recommend one third in the morning and two thirds in the evening. See the feeding guide table for the correct amount. When changing over to our food please introduce the new food gradually over a period of two weeks.

If you are feeding Lovejoys® complete dry food for the first time, the best way to introduce the new food to your dog is to start adding a small amount to their current food. Increase these amounts over the period of a week, whilst reducing the previous food until a complete change is achieved.
These guidelines are not a fixed rule. If you think your dog needs a little longer to get used to their new food, increase the number of days over which you integrate it into their diet.
We also know that a lot of owners like to ‘mix it up a bit’, feeding a mixture of dry and wet food. If you’d prefer to be a Lovejoys® mixer, we recommend that whatever amount you reduce the dry food by, you replace with double the amount of Pure & Simple wet food. For example, if you normally feed your dog 150g of dry food and you reduce the amount by 50g, we would recommend you replace with 100 grams of Lovejoys® Pure & Simple wet food.
